Objective

The objective of this workshop will be to equip the participants with the needed skills to understand the scenarios we face in work environment purposefully and assessing the problems, evaluating options and making the appropriate decisions. This workshop will provide them with an insight on the science and art of assessing the clarity of judgment, firmness of the decision and effective implementation. Moreover, at this workshop the participants will be able to indentify certain techniques which suit most for each individual to apply in problem solving and decision making.

Rationale

In an uprising economy, opportunities are emerging every day. To harness such opportunities to the maximum possible level, one needs to act promptly. Those who make the right assessment and make appropriate decisions are often seen progressing in their endeavors. The professionals today are expected to maintain a reputation for their intense focus and high standards of quality in everything they do. People those are less natural in problem solving and decision making are often able to make quality assessments, but then they need to be more decisive in acting upon the assessments made.

Target Audience

Supervisory Staff.

Training Methodology

Two-day educational and inspirational workshop to be conducted to the above staff not exceeding 30 numbers in a batch. The learning style adopted will be a combination of mini-lectures, open forum discussions, world-wide examples, case studies, individual and group assignments.

Course Contents:

1. The identification of problems impartially.

2. Usage of brainstorming techniques to identify the scenarios.

3. Assessment of the seriousness of the scenario in hand, in terms of its urgency and seriousness.

4. Identification of practical methodologies involved in gathering facts and causes.

5. Implementation of appropriate models and templates for gathering and weighing data.

6. Evaluation of options whilst considering the risk factors and selection of suitable decisions.

7. Effectively communicating the decisions made to those who matter and obtaining their consensus.

8. Handling intangible-emotional issues and consequences involved in the total process.

9. Agreeing on periodic progress reviews techniques to assess the effectiveness of the outcome.
